2nd floor, shared bathroom. Oceanicus Blue Dreams features a tip of the hat to Cornelius Vanderbilt and the great shipping fleets of the world he and the Vanderbilt family adored. This room is loaded with tons of eclectic, collections and items from the Civil War Navy's. As our mansion is only a short drive from the Vanderbilt Estate the influence is very strong. The, "Biltmore," is still the largest private home in America and is now the most visited winery in America. We think this says a lot about where we live, in Western North Carolina. The lil' desk has tons of hidden items in each drawer to find and discover! Along the bulkheads are lighthouses and ships, spyglasses and shells, log books and scrolls of antique paper as well as shiny brass lanterns, cutlasses, iron handguns, knives and swords. We have been shocked by how many ladies want to stay in this room! WARNING: However, if you don't enjoy eclectic clutter, intense 17th and 18th century weaponry from all over the world and tons of fun, little items all over the place and hidden in drawers (love letters) - you won't enjoy this particular room (you will find love-letters from the war written between sailors and their wives to read as well as dance cards and amazing things). This is the room with the Confederate War Bond inside the wall of the closet that many have read about. A king size bed with hand-carved, elegant headboard awaits you with gel-foam insert padding and tremendously extra-fluffy, fluffy, fluffy mattress!
